Roast is more important than origin

In choosing your coffee you should look out for two factors: roast strength and origin and in our opinion roast strength is the more important. If you are confused by the wide range we offer we would advise you to identify the roast you prefer and only then decide on the origin or blend. So for instance if you like a Monsooned Malabar on a mild roast you would probably be disappointed if you select our super high roast version.

To figure out what roast you prefer, just look at the colour – roasts of the same colour are mostly very similar in strength

What if you are wedded to an origin which we only have in the “wrong” roast? You could try blending (see previous blog item). To strengthen your preferred origin try adding one third of a stronger roast, to weaken it add two thirds of a milder roast.
