Description

Unlike other Central and South American countries farming coffee, Brasil has the advantage of large expanses of flat terrain which means that many aspects of coffee production could be easily mechanised, explaining how the country has become the first producer of coffee in the world.

With its full smooth body and its low acidity, this Brasilian medium mild roast coffee became such a favourite among our customers that it quickly got a promotion in our cast from special guest to regular. It was first sought after for its novelty aspect because of the strain that gives it its yellow beans, but it has imposed itself in its own right since then.

If we had to describe it in a few words, it would be ‘Brasilian Santos on steroids’. Indeed, it has an even richer body, while its flavour is still delicate but a little stronger and clearer, with notes of caramel, almonds and walnuts.

These coffee beans are grown on the Miaki farm by a family of Japanese origin in the mountainous region of Minas Gerais, the largest coffee producing state of Brasil which benefits from a mild climate all year round.

Grown at altitudes of 800 to 1,350 meters above sea level

Harvested between June and September

Milled by washing and drying in the sun

Has the aroma of caramel, almonds and walnuts

This coffee is also available in 250g valve bags.

Did you know our ordering system allows you to create your own blends? Order each component of the blend separately and than tell us what do do in the special information box. We can then blend it and if required grind it, saving you a potentially messy kitchen worktop

Blending tip: when deciding on a mixed roast blend it usually works better to have more of the milder roast, less of the stronger.

Blending tip: even the strongest roast can be mixed with a normal tasting blend – so long as you use very little. Start by trying one part in four.
