Mexican coffee is typical of classic Central American coffee, with a medium body and a slightly fruity finishing note. It is often use in blends where it brings out the flavour of the coffee beans it is mixed with. This doesn’t mean that it is not good enough to be used on its own, quite the contrary, and our successful single origin Mexican coffee is proof of that.
Following the collapse of Mexico’s national coffee trade organisation, resources were pooled by farmers into co-ops and invested into developing what was unique about Mexican coffee, leading to the growth of organic coffee farming. Nowadays, Mexico is the first producer of Certified Organic coffee in the world.
Our organic Fairtrade coffee is comparable to the best Colombian beans, but with chocolate tones and a smoother quality. It is said that when Colombia coffee production struggled, especially during coffee-rust epidemics, Mexican coffee beans were smuggled into the country and made to pass for Colombian beans.
If you are looking for coffee beans for latte, mild cappuccino or espresso, this medium roast is just right for you and it will give equally delicious results if used in a cafetière.
We are passionate about the quality of our products, and our roasting process isn’t controlled by a computer, but overseen by our experience roaster who decides, by eye, when the beans are ready.

Blending tip: when deciding on a mixed roast blend it usually works better to have more of the milder roast, less of the stronger.
