With this blend, you are getting the best of two worlds, our organic Fairtrade Colombian and our conventional Kenyan beans, the perfect beans for a medium to strong coffee.
Colombian coffee is well-known for its superior flavour which comes from almost perfect growing conditions and the fact that beans are picked, by hand, on privately-owned exploitations, by their farmers who will not harvest a coffee cherry until it is perfectly ripe, allowing them to mature and develop fully.
Kenyan’s coffee doesn’t need introducing either. It is well known for its full body and intense flavour and is often used in blends to spice them up. It has acquired a fully-deserved reputation as a gourmet coffee for discerning customers! It was the first coffee we actually sold back in 1983, roasted on a handmade roaster, so it is particularly dear to us!
Both beans reveal a different facet of their personality depending on how they are roasted. We carefully blend them before roasting them to a medium-strong roast, which is not quite a continental roast but still delivers a flavoursome cup. Our master roaster doesn’t rely on computer-controlled profiles but on his vast experience to determine that the beans are ready.
We recommend this blend for a medium-strong latte and cappuccino, and it is suitable for use with a filter or with cafetières.

Blending tip: when deciding on a mixed roast blend it usually works better to have more of the milder roast, less of the stronger.
Blending tip: even the strongest roast can be mixed with a normal tasting blend – so long as you use very little. Start by trying one part in four.
