After the Prime Ministers shocking announcement this week that he is putting his electoral prospects before the climate emergency, we could do with some good news. Here it is.

Good Energy is Coffee Plant's electricity supplier. Their electricity is 100% renewable (so they cannot juggle the figures to make bogus environmental claims like too many of their competitors.

This is from their latest newsletter...
Renewables are set to overtake coal as the world’s biggest power source

Countries around the world have made major investments in renewable energy over the past year. The expansion of renewables is 30% higher than predicted before the energy crisis.

What’s more, renewables are set to overtake coal as the world’s biggest power source by 2025.

We would add that this process would go all the faster if the PM and his bloated corporate friends would cut the massive subsidies they give fossile fuel companies.

Now here's some more good news from the Soil Association...

At the start of September, the Soil Association worked alongside the Woodland Trust to host the UK’s first ever Agroforestry Show!

We brought together farmers, foresters, researchers, environmentalists and policy makers to share insights on how farms can benefit from trees. And it was a great success.

Representatives from all four UK governments were positive about supporting agroforestry to deliver benefits to food production and the environment, and attendees went away inspired to ensure the future of agroforestry.

Meanwhile Coffee Plant buys more coffee from Peru than anywhere else (it goes into our espresso blends). As his personal carbon offset payment Coffee Plant owner Ian Henshall donates to TREES a project in Peru to research into using agroforestry techniques to reclaim land that has been deforested. Go here to see an example of how a bzarre religious sect are causing more destruction in Peru even than gold miners
