Removing caffeine from coffee can result in a milder taste and some coffee lovers will look at a cup of decaff coffee with a suspicious eye.
At Coffee Plant, we don’t compromise on the quality of our coffee, and we believe that it is all in the origin of the beans you select. For this decaff coffee, we use pure Arabica coffee beans from Latin America, very similar in strength and flavour to our Espresso No 2 blend. It is used by many professional caterers so we must be doing something right! This is also the decaffeinated coffee we serve in our own shop in London's Portobello Road.
We are deeply committed to sustainability and this is why our decaffeination processor uses the C02 process, which is approved by the Soil Association. This chemical-free process allied with the best beans produce a classic Latin American coffee without the caffeine hit. The flavour we obtain is actually so little affected by the decaffeination process that people often simply do not believe it is decaf at all!
Roasted to a medium strong roast with an extra continental bite, these beans have developed more flavour and lost some of the creamy body of medium roast coffee.
We have further options of decaff in our pre-packed category.
This coffee is also available in 250g valve bags.
Did you know our ordering system allows you to create your own blends? Order each component of the blend separately and than tell us what do do in the special information box. We can then blend it and if required grind it, saving you a potentially messy kitchen worktop
Blending tip: when deciding on a mixed roast blend it usually works better to have more of the milder roast, less of the stronger.
Blending tip: even the strongest roast can be mixed with a normal tasting blend - so long as you use very little. Start by trying one part in four
